My name is Katherine Huddle, and I am currently a student at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am in the second semester of my graduate school program where I am studying to become a librarian. Yes - you need a college degree to be a librarian (actually, you need two degrees!)
I have a full-time job on top of taking graduate courses full-time. I am the Computer Training and Support Specialist in the I.T. Department at the Carmel Clay Public Library in Carmel, Indiana, and I love it! My professional interests include digital literacy with a strong emphasis on early, disabled and senior learners. I love working with the public and volunteer with students at Indianapolis Public Schools whenever I can
I am married and have four cats, thus fulfilling the crazy cat lady librarian stereotype! I live in Carmel, Indiana.
This blog was created for a class project, and is designed to highlight some of the *best* (award winners, outstanding reviews, etc.) fiction and non-fiction titles for girls in middle school and high school. Reading has always been my favorite anything - why do anything else when you can read? My goal for this blog is to inspire young girls, parents, caregivers, educators, librarians and others to foster a love of reading, education and books in young girls.
Happy reading! <3 Katherine
Sebastian Balthazar Buxley was less than impressed with J.K. Rowling's first post-H.P. novel.
